Students don’t need any prior dance or circus experience.
Our qualified instructors will teach a combination of apparatus and floor skills and students will be provided with level cards to mark their individual progress through the levels.

Classes focus on practicing skills and drills in the chosen apparatus which will build your child's flexibility, mobility, fitness and strength.
Every class also includes warm up and cool down time to teach the importance of getting your body prepared for movement and the benefits of stretch for recovery.


DANCE CIRQUE CIRCUS SILKS & LYRA - KIDS
Dance Cirque Circus Classes are suitable for children in Prep to Grade 4.
It is all about building confidence, autonomy, fitness and strength in a fun supportive environment.
Classes run in a circuit style and include Lyra (Aerial Hoop), Silks, Juggling and Hula hoops all under the supervision of our qualified teachers.
LYRA
The Lyra is a steel hoop suspended from ceiling rigging used to perform aerial acrobatics. Lyra can be used static, spinning or swinging and tricks involve climbing, hanging and sitting in various positions.
SILKS
A piece of long, thick specialist fabric suspended from ceiling rigging by the mid-point so that both free ends hang loose.
The apparatus is used both with open and tied ends to perform aerial acrobatics. Silks are wrapped around body parts to facilitate tricks involving climbs, wraps and drops and to create graceful shapes.
JUGGLING
Manipulation of airborne objects. In class we use scarves and balls and focus on throwing and catching techniques. Juggling can be done with one prop or many.
HULA HOOP
A lightweight, plastic hoop that can be twirled or spun around the body, rolled on the floor or thrown in the air.
AERIALS - TRAPEZE & HAMMOCK
Aerial Pole & Hammock Classes are suitable for children in Grades Prep to 6.
Classes are run in a circuit style where students will learn both Pole & Hammock under the supervision of our qualified teachers.
Students will not only learn aerial tricks and moves but also technique and safety.
TRAPEZE
The Trapeze is a short, horizontal bar suspended by rigging points from the ceiling by 2 equal length parallel ropes. I resembles a big swing and tricks can be performed while the apparatus is static, swinging or spinning.
HAMMOCK
Similar to Silks but one piece of specialist fabric suspended from ceiling rigging points by the open ends forming a swing or hammock. The apparatus is used to perform tricks and movements including climbs and wraps
AERIALS - POLE
Aerial Pole Classes are suitable for children in Grades 2 to 6.
Classes are run in a circuit style on a combination of steel and brass poles where students will learn aerial tricks and moves but also technique, strength and safety under the supervision of our qualified instructors
POLE
Combines dance and acrobatics using a solid steel or brass pole as the main apparatus. Poles can be used in static or spin modes to perform tricks like spins, flips and climbs.
ACRO DANCE
Acro Dance Classes are suitable for kids in Grades 2 to 6.
Children will explore movement, gain confidence and learn new physical motor and social skills.
Students will learn a series of floor based acrobatic moves and tricks under the supervision of our fully qualified teachers.
The Acrobatic Dance program also incorporates dance elements that, combined with the acro moves, will form a full Acro Dance routine.
It’s a great class for kids to learn the correct technique in a safe environment.
All classes start with fun warm up activities and include low impact fitness and stretch routines to build strength, support mobility and aid recovery.
Students will be encouraged to master skills to progress through class levels.
TEENS MIXED AERIALS - BEGINNER SILKS & LYRA
These classes are suitable for new/beginner high school students.
Students will get to try both aerial apparatus and build confidence, autonomy, fitness and strength in a fun supportive environment.
Classes run in a circuit style and include warm ups, Lyra (Aerial Hoop) and Silks all under the supervision of our qualified teachers.
Once the Mixed Class is completed students can move on to our Intermediate Teen Silks or Intermediate Teen Lyra class.

No, our classes are suitable for beginners.
Students do not need any experience in gymnastics, acrobatics or dance to join our Dance Cirque Circus or Exhilarate Juniors Aerial & Acro classes.
The programs are self paced and skill based, children will move through levels once they have mastered a skill set.
Students will be coached in correct and safe technique by our instructors.
Classes will have students at different levels, but the circuit based layout allows each child to participate in groups with other students at their current level.

We have a toilet and small wash basin in the studio but no changing rooms so please arrive to class dressed and ready to go.
Circus, Aerial and Acro Classes are done barefoot, so kids should wear shoes that are easy to remove and put back on.
Hair should be tied back or secured with a headband or clips so that it will not be in your Childs face during class hindering their visibility.
Jewellery should not be worn to class, it can cause damage to our aerial apparatus as will any metal buckles, studs on clothing.

Studio branded leggings, crops and hoodies may at times be available for purchase through the studio but are not compulsory.

We have plenty of off street parking in front of the studio.
Each class type runs once per week.
Our Juniors (kids and teens) classes will align with standard Victorian School Terms.
Classes will not run during the school holidays.
Classes will not run on public holidays.
If your regular class falls on a public holiday we are not open for, we will do our best to reschedule to a different day or give you a class credit which can only be used within the current term.
No refunds will be given for missed classes.
All classes are subject to change.
While Studio Exhilarate uses its best efforts to operate classes as per the timetable published on the website, in some instances changes are required due to fluctuations in demand and instructor availability.
No guarantee is made that classes will run per the timetable.
Any changes required will be communicated to those affected prior to the date classes commence.
Fees are required to be paid weekly during the term via direct debit.
Similar to a gym membership except at the end of each term your payments are paused for school holidays and will automatically resume at the start of the new term.
Memberships vary depending on the number of classes included.

There is a yearly $50 registration fee to cover student & studio insurances.
We understand our classes might not be the right fit for your child or personal circumstances change.
If you no longer wish for your child to attend classes you must advise us in writing before the start of the new term. You will be supplied a cancellation for that must be completed and returned to us via email.
No cancellation fees will apply, but minimum terms are enforced, so if you choose to cancel mid-term you will be required to continue to pay out the remainder of the terms fees.
We charge a yearly Registration & Insurance fee of $50.
This fee is charged when you sign up via Groovio
The fee covers insurance costs for the student for the entire year.
We currently do not have costume hire fees however in the event of your child participating in a performance or showcase you may be asked to provide a simple costume.
If your child is unwell we ask that you keep them home to protect the health of the other students and the instructors.
If your child is unable to attend class please let us know as soon as possible, by cancelling their class booking in groovio.
We understand that kids can be fine one minute and unwell the next but we appreciate as much notice as possible if your child will not be attending class.
If your child is unwell and unable to attend a class they may be able to attend a class on a different day as a make up lesson this is subject to availability and not guaranteed.
No refunds will be given for missed classes.
Yes! Our instructors complete extensive training provided by qualified instructors.
The Dance Cirque Circus syllabus and training is written by the founder of Dance Cirque, Rebecca Liu-Brennan, who has been running Dance Cirque for over 17 years in conjunction with her support team consisting of experienced dancers, gymnasts, circus performers and aerial riggers.
Syllabus and training for Aerials is written by Studio owner, qualified PT and competitive aerialist Kylie Barclay.
Our Instructors are required to maintain their training by completing refreshers and new courses when they are introduced.
Our instructors have First Aid training and Working with Children checks.
Students should arrive at the studio no earlier than 15 minutes before their class time, dressed in their uniform and ready to participate.
It is the responsibility the students Parent/Carer to ensure kids attend every class with a water bottle. Staying hydrated is important and drink breaks are offered at multiple intervals during the classes.
For safety reasons, open cups/containers and food are not permitted in the studio.
TOYS/DEVICES/TABLETS etc are NOT PERMITTED to be taken into the studio.
If your child has brought anything along these lines to class they will be required to store the item at our reception desk to be collected at the end of class.
Our classes help your child learn more than just circus & aerial skills. The syllabus also includes focus on learning and development of social and behavioural skills.
To allow the children to focus on their class and build a sense of autonomy we ask parents to kindly wait in reception if you’re a preschool parent and if you are a primary school parent and your child is settled you are welcome to wait in your car in our carpark or a lot of parents use the time to get some errands done.
For the final class of each term we invite Parents/Carers into the studio for the duration of the class to see what the students have been learning.
Our Dance Cirque Circus, Acro & Aerial classes are membership only classes.
We expect regular attendance from our students to maintain a high standard and enable us to work toward a professional annual concert. The majority of our students stay on for the entire year.
We offer trial classes at the start of each term and we occasionally run School Holiday Workshops
